Our private African retreat is a unique blend of history, culture, and natural beauty. Located near the iconic Grahamstown, we provide our guests with amazing opportunities to immerse themselves in the natural wonder of an authentic safari tour and to reconnect with nature.
Our lodge boasts spacious accommodations designed to offer comfort and exclusivity, all against the backdrop of the picturesque African bushveld. Whilst our range of safari experiences certainly makes us unique, there is an additional experience on offer that is guaranteed to make your stay unforgettable: One-of-a-kind hospitality.
GAME LODGE
Our dedicated game lodge team, led by Carene, are very attentive and offers the best personal service for all aspects of your experience. Guests can expect everything from special menus and flexible mealtimes to room turndowns and wake-up calls. Our staff are also employed from the local community.
AFRICAN RETREAT
Our food is very much part of our story, as no African Retreat is complete without authentic South African cuisine. Our chefs’ renowned reputations and recipes have reached far and wide.
With Carene in charge of the hospitality team, you can count on an outstanding retreat. As a dedicated host, she goes above and beyond to make sure your retreat experience is remarkable. Her high standards and keen attention to detail are unparalleled.
CRAFTING MENU’S
We take great pleasure in crafting menus that offer you a taste of the finest South African cuisine. Feast on venison, beef, karoo lamb, chicken, or pork. Other uniquely South African favourites are milk tart, bobotie and homemade biltong (like jerky – but spiced with cumin, coriander, and other top-secret ingredients).
We frequently host braais (barbecues) in our boma or on the spacious deck, where we serve specialities such as roosterkoek and boerewors, a mildly spiced farmer’s sausage
UFUMENE
You or your partner, friends or kids can join our chefs in the kitchen if the fancy takes you and learn their recipes – or share some of your own. Your stay includes all your food and drinks.
Please advise us of any dietary requirements before your visit so we can cater to them. Note that the main dining area is inside the lodge, but you can request to dine alone or outside.
